IV Nether in a Shabbat
service, on a mission
to Israel or attending a
youth group function,
it is always important for Jewish
teenagers to unite for a purpose.
As I learned on the March of the
Living/Teen Unity Mission, the divi-
sions between the streams of
Judaism are not important as long as
we are able to join together as a
whole while respecting each other's
differences.
This focus has helped me under-
stand how the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit operates and it
came particularly into play as I
helped to plan the high school
tzedaka campaign kick-off—
Mitzvah Day.
The steering committee had assis-
tance from Federation volunteer
Gina Horwitz, and staffers Lauren
