Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Rachel Lynn Matz of West
Bloomfield will be
called to the Torah as
a bat mitzvah at
Congregation Beth
Ahm on Saturday,
April 1. Rabbi Aaron
Bergman and Rachel
will lead the services.
Rachel is the daugh-
ter of Sandi and Steve Matz and sister
of Jared and Danny. Proud grandpar=
ents are Gert and Dave Matz and
Perlyn Ellison. Enjoying special
nachos are great-grandmothers Rose
Rosenthal and Ida Schwartz. Rachel is
also the granddaughter of the late
Sheldon Ellison.
Rachel is a seventh-grade student
at West Hills Middle School in
Broomfield Hills. She loves to dance,
act, sing and participate in forensics.
Among her mitzvah projects, Rachel
made dolls at Hadassah House for
children in the hospital and she and a
friend organized a Passover food drive
for Yad Ezra.
Lauren Faye Ozrovitz became a bat
mitzvah on Saturday, March 25, at
Temple Emanu-El.
She is the daughter
of Sharon and
Bruce Ozrovitz and
sister to Alyssa and
Justin. Proud
grandparents are Al
and Bernice Kesner
of Las Vegas and
Herman and Adell Ozrovitz of West
Bloomfield. Also helping to celeL
brate Lauren's bat mitzvah was her
great-grandmother Anna Ozrovitz
of Boca Raton, Fla.
Lauren is an honor student at
Norup Middle School in Oak Park,
where she plays the clarinet in the
school band and serves on the stu-
dent council.
Lauren's mitzvah project included
taking care of children at Temple
Emanu-El's nursery school after-
care program.
Rachel Prinstein will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitz-
vah at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek on
Saturday, April 1.
She is the daughter
of Dayle and Jay
Prinstein and the
sister of Justin.
Excited grandpar-
ents are Libby and George
Weingarden and Vivian and Allen
Prinstein. Proud great-grandmother is
Bessie Davidson. She is also the grand-
daughter of the last Shirley Davidson.
Rachel is an honor student at
Warner Middle School in Farmington
Hills. She enjoys dancing, kickboxing,
tennis, acting and summers at Camp
Tanuga. Rachel's most meaningful
mitzvah project was packing food for
'the Shining Light Into Darkness pro--
gram.
Joshua Michael Rosenberg will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, April 1, at
Temple Kol Ami.
Proud of him are

June Holmes. Josh is
also the grandson of
the late Rose Holmes.
Josh is an honor student at Clifford
Smart Middle School in Walled Lake,
where he plays clarinet and alto sax in
the seventh-grade band. His is in his
fourth year of playing travel soccer in
the lakes area. His other interests
include reading, sports, camping and
downhill skiing.
His mitzvah project included work-
ing at his temple during the High
Holy Days, cleaning the West
Bloomfield trails, helping out at Jump
Rope for Heart and making and deliv-
ering food baskets for Yad Ezra.
Eric Ross Rosenbloom will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Friday, March 31, at
Temple Kol Ami. He
is the son of June
and Marty
Rosenbloom and the
brother of Stephanie
and Ilana. Eric is the
grandson of Hannah
(Entus) and Philip
Lifton. He is also the
grandson of the late -Elsie and Isadore
(Itzie) Rosenbloom and the late Louis
Entus.
Eric is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills. He was on the
Warner football team and participated
in basketball and floor hockey as intra-
mural sports. Eric loves music and has
enjoyed several years of hip-hop dance
and piano.
