Jana 12.
He is survived by his son, Charles
Alpert; daughter Rochelle Alpert; three
grandchildren. He was i ineceded in
death one month ago by his wife Sarah.

BETTY BLOOM, 79, of West
Bloomfield, died Jan. 14. Mrs. Bloom
was a member of the STD sorority
alumni of the University of Illinois, a
member of the National Council of
Jewish Women, Women's American
ORT and a True Sister.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Harriet and Michael
Jacobson of West Bloomfield; son and
daughter-in-law Dr. William and
Beverly Bloom of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren Matthew Jacobson and
Jason Bloom; brothers-in-law and sis-
ters-in-law Murray and Carol Bloom,
Dr. Jerry and Joan Bloom and Eddie
and Esta Bloom. Mrs. Bloom was the
beloved wife of the late Herman Bloom.

IZRAIL BOTSHTEIN, 78, of Oak
Park, died Jan. 13.
He is survived by his wife, Tunya

brother-in-law Sonya and Yury Elman of
Israel; grandchildren Vladimir

MARION ESTHER BURNSTINE,
86, of Windsor, died Jan. 14. Mrs.
Burnstine worked as a bookkeeper at
Meretsky, Burnstine and Meretsky and
later as head bookkeeper at Hack's Shoes
in Detroit. She was a member of Shaar
Hashomayim Synagogue and a life
member of the sisterhood. She was also
a life member of Canadian Hadassah-
WIZO and held many offices in the
chapter. Mrs. Burnstine spent many
years as a volunteer in the Hadassah
resale shop and as a volunteer in the
out-patient department at Hotel Dieu,
for which she received an award of
recognition. In addition, she was a
member of the Windsor Jewish
Community Choir, the Art Gallery of
Windsor and the Windsor Symphony
Volunteer Association.
She is survived by her sisters, Cecille
S. Vexler and Sylvia N. Gordon; nieces
and nephews, Ruth (David Waltman,
Brenda (Jerry) Udell, Stephen (Rimina)
Golden, Katherine Golden, Dr.
Michelle Golden (Bud) Moore, Andrew
Golden. She was the devoted daughter
of the late Michael (Mike) Burnstine
and Thy Meretsky Burnstine.
Interment at Shaar Hashomayim
Cemetery. Contributions may be made

ALICE EGRIN, 89, of Southfield, died
Jan. 16. Mrs. Egrin was a dollmaker and
quilt maker who was featured in The
Jewish News. She and her granddaugh-
ter Sherry Kanter went on the first
Miracle Mission to Israel and were the
only grandmother-granddaughter com-
bination. Mrs. Egrin traveled the world,
spoke several languages, was an. accom-
plished pianist and was a student at
McGill School of Music. She was an
avid gardener. In the community, Mrs.
Egrin was active with the Holocaust
Memorial Center, was a founding mem-
ber of Adat Shalom Synagogue, a mem-
ber of Temple Israel, Hadassah and
Women's American ORT.
Mrs. Egrin is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Richard "Rick"
and Estelle Egrin of Oak Park, Leon

JEANNE EIZELMAN, 88, of
Farmington, died Jan. 16. Mrs.
Eizelman was an executive at
Rubenstein and. Eizelman, a kosher
meat market. She was also a member of
City of Hope Cancer Fighters.
Mrs. Eizelman is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Charles and
Carole Eizelman of West Bloomfield;
daughter Heidi Gordon of Farmington;
grandchildren Marc and Elisa Eizelman;

MARGIE "BOOTS" FENTON, 76,
of Birmingham, died Jan. 16. For 15
years, Ms. Fenton was a consumer
advocate for Channel 7's Call For
Action and was previously with
Channel 4. She was a member of the
Birmingham Temple.
Ms. Fenton is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law,' Richard and
