awards competitions. The film was
produced and directed by Sue
Marx of Royal Oak with executive
producer David Techner of Ira
Kaufman Chapel. The film will
receive a Golden Eagle Award from
CINE, the documentary and infor-
mational film organization, and
has been named a finalist in the
International Film and Video
Awards competition sponsored by
the New York Festivals.

Steven Kaplan, an assistant
prosecuting attorney for Macomb
County, had three articles pub-
lished in the Macomb County Bar
Journal; a fourth article was pub-
lished in the Oakland County Law

Journal.

Bloomfield has earned dean's list
recognition at Adrian University.

Yeshivah University College
Alumni Association presented the
Bernard Revel Memorial Award for
religion and religious education
posthumously to Rabbi Hayim
Donin.
Rabbi Donin received his
smicha from the university's affiliate
RIETS; earned a master's degree in
counseling from Columbia
University and a Ph.D. in educa-
tion from Wayne State University.
He was ordained in 1951 and
served at Congregation B'nai David
from 1953-1977. In 1977, he and
his family made aliya to Israel.
Rabbi Donin was a lecturer at
WSU starting in 1962, and served
on the executive board of the
Jewish National Fund in 1960, the
Parent/Youth Committee in
Southfield and the Michigan
Cancer Foundation Board. He was
regional vice president of rabbinic
alumni for Yeshiva University from
1954-56 and chairman of the
Social Action Committee for the
Rabbinical Council of America
from 1958-62.
Among his books is To Be A
Jew. Rabbi Donin died in Israel in
1982.
