oth my older brothers wrestled, and it

was just another activity," Lauren

Lamb recalled. "My mom asked me if
I wanted to sign up for wrestling."
"Sure," she replied, then 6 years old.
That was Lamb's inauspicious entrance into
the world of organized wrestling, and
Michigan's introduction to one of its first female
wrestlers.
At wrestling practice, "I was always the
only girl in the room, growing up," she said.
"But it never even fazed me, that I shouldn't
be there."
And so she returned, as much as her schedule
of school and temple and Jewish activities
would allow, to train and compete with boys.
