S. WASHINGTON
DOWNTOWN ROYAL OAK,

and was involved with numerous
travel organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Amal
Randolph; daughters and son-in-law
Susan and Alvin Schoenberger,
Hildy Randolph; sons and daugh-
ters-in-law Charles and Lori
Randolph, Eric and Abby Randolph;
grandchildren Lindsey and Jennifer
Schoenberger, Joshua, Jessica and
Alexa Randolph; sister Hanna Rowe
of New York.

ELLEN SAFIER, 96, of Detroit,
died Dec. 25.
She is survived by her niece and
nephew, Barbara and Ronald Sider
of West Palm Beach, Fla.; great-
nephew and niece Bill and Michelle
Sider of Huntinton Woods; great-
great nephews, Joshua, Eli,
Benjamin; longtime companion,
Gary Beam of Detroit. Mrs. Safier
was the beloved wife of the late
Edgar Safier.

was at Hebrew Memorial Park.

MELVIN SCHNEIDER, 77, of
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Dec. 20.
A native Detroiter, he graduated
from Central High School.
Mr. Schneider was an executive in
the steel service center industry. He
worked for Kasle Steel Corporation
and Edwards Iron in South Bend,
Ind., Schwartz Steel in
Marshalltown, Iowa, Katz Steel in
Merion, Iowa, Zenith Steel in
Duluth, Minn. and Intertrade Steel
in Cedar Rapids.
He was partners with his son, Jeff
in an antique car and car detail
shop. He was a member of B'nai
B'rith, Anti-Defamation League,
Kiwanis and Elks and was a hospital
volunteer.
Mr. Schneider is survived by his
wife, Bertie Schneider; daughter
Andreya Schneider of Cedar Rapids;
sons and daughters-in-law Ron and
Margee Farley Schneider of
Lawrence, Kan., Jeff and Sharon
Schneider of Cedar Rapids, Lance
Mendel of Durham, N.C.; brother
Lou Schneider of West Bloomfield;
sister, Rae Offerman of Livonia;
grandchildren John and Travis
Schneider, Emily and Jessica
Schneider, Richard Mendel.

Mr. Schneider was the beloved
husband of the late Edith Schneider;
loving son of the late Philip and
Bessie Schneider.

ELIOTT SCHULMAN, 52, of
Wyandotte, died Dec. 24.
He is survived by his ex-wife,
Daneen Schulman; son and daugh-
ter-in-law Samuel David and Carrie
Schulman of Romulus; sisters and
brothers-in-law Marilyn Kovitz of
Novi, Natalie and Morris Yellin of
West Bloomfield, Joanne and
Hillard Fealk of West Bloomfield,

Lauderdale, Fla., Diana Pianko of

Schulman, Hannah Schulman.

AGIVO SHUMSHINOV, 52, of
Farmington Hills, died Dec. 23.
He is survived by his parents,
Aushalom and Esther Shumshinov
of Southfield; son Rusland
Shumshinov of Farmington Hills;
daughter, Evelina Shumshinov of
Farmington Hills; sisters and broth-
ers-in-law Tamara Peysakhov of
West Bloomfield, Svetlana and
Solomon Ilyasov of Bloomfield
Hills, Rosa and Seymon Brayman of
West Bloomfield.

BEN SOLOMON, 99, of West
Bloomfield, died Dec. 26. Mr.
Solomon was self-employed in the
grocery business.
He is survived by his daughter,
Betty Hersch of West Bloomfield;
son-in-law Irwin Kramer; grandchil-
dren Marianne and Jerome Pesick,
Edward and Julie Hersch, Lisa
Hersch, Howard and Linda Kramer,
Eileen Blain, Marjorie and Stephen
