a Manhattan day school covered the
sukka walls with quilts and titled it,
"A Sukka of Peace."
Along with the MATCKH office,
Resnick herself has moved to New
York. "Living on the East Coast,
close to the heartbeat of politics for
Israel," is something the Bulgarian-
born, Israeli-raised and educated
Resnick says she has always wanted.
In a decision made by her family,
she says, "This is the right time to
move — it is beshert that it worked
that way.
"Detroit was a wonderful opportu-
nity to give MATCKH great promi-
nence in the Midwest," Resnick says.
Handing the local MATCKH's
reins to co-founder Toby Schlussel,
Resnick looks forward to the move to
New York, but calls it just a stopping
point for the organization.
"MATCKH should be in Israel,"
she states.
