Township Planning Commission and
the Bloomfield Township Mediation
Board, Lubin established his firm in
1973. He is a graduate of the
University of Michigan architecture
program.
"I am thrilled to have been chosen,
and to be honored by the Builders
Association is a great tribute," said
Lubin.
Lubin specializes in designing
high-end, luxury, single-family
homes, primarily in northern
Michigan. The Lubin Associates
designs have been built across the
country and published in leading
magazines. He is currently involved
in the development of Turtle Lake, a
250-acre estate site at Square Lake
and Telegraph roads.
Lubin donated the design plans for
Gilda's Place in Royal Oak two years
ago, and has been involved with
Habitat for Humanity.
Honored as outstanding real estate
broker of the year was Dennis P.
Dickstein, chairman of the board,
president and CEO of Ralph Manuel
Associates - West Inc. Realtors in
Farmington Hills. Like Lubin,
Dickstein is the first person to receive
the new award.
Dickstein is both a third-genera-
tion builder and general contractor
and a real estate broker and apprais-
er. Since 1958, he has sold, built,
developed and worked on more
than 50 condominium complexes.
He has personally sold more than
1,200 condominium units and
4,000 homes.
President of BIA in 1987,
Dickstein has built office buildings,
restaurants and commercial proper-
ties, as well as more than 2,000 sin-
gle-family dwellings in Wayne,
Oakland, Washtenaw and Macomb
counties.
"I am obviously surprised and
pleased to have been recognized," said
Dickstein, who is also chairman of
the board of Executec Mortgage
Corporation.
Dickstein has served as trustee
and director (since 1986) of the
Multiple Sclerosis Society, Michigan
Chapter Inc. He has been a member
of the executive committee since
1986, and is currently second vice
chair.
In October, Dickstein received the
MS Hope Award for being the most
effective volunteer in the state in
1999. "I strongly believe that you
give back to the community," said
Dickstein. 7
