CEMETERY INSTALLATION

Amanda Milstein; sister and broth-
er-in-law Beatrice and Bernard
Wigler of New York.
He was the dear brother of the
late Eileen Altman.
Interment was at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to
any Jewish charity. Arrangements by
Ira Kaufman Chapel.

CELIA PRIEST, 88, of Southfield,
died Nov. 30.
She is survived by her sons and
daughter-in-law, Seymour Priest of
Southfield, Leonard and Bobbie
Priest of Bloomfield Township;
grandchildren Steven Priest, Lynette
and Billy Smith; great-grandchildren
Dustin Smith, Nicholas Smith.
Mrs. Priest was the beloved wife
of the late Morris Priest.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Services and
interment were at Hebrew Memorial
Park. Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

ILSE W. SCHILD, 93, of
Bloomfield Village, died Dec. 4.
Music was her life and Mrs.
Schild shared her passion with hun-
dreds of students over a 60-year
piano teaching career. She retired at
89, but continued to play until her
passing.
Born in
Dusseldorf,
Germany she stud-
ied music at the
Buths-Neitzel
Konservatorium
under Elizabeth
Lentz-Thompson,
a student of Carl
Friedberg and
Ilse Schild
then studied with
Eduard Erdmann,
head of the Hochschule for Music in
Cologne. Her teaching career began
in Dusseldorf.
She left Germany in 1938 with
her husband Fred and moved to
Detroit in 1941. Mrs. Schild first
taught at the Ganapol School of
Music and then maintained her own
studio at her homes in northwest
Detroit, Southfield and Bloomfield
Village.
She was a member of the Tuesday
Musicale, the Music Study Club of
Detroit, the Livonia Piano Teachers
Forum, the Detroit Musicians
League, the Michigan Music
Teachers Association and the Music
Teachers National Association. She
was on the advisory committee of
the Piano Teachers:Institute at

Oakland University.
She was also a member of the
Detroit Institute of the Arts, the
National Council of Jewish Women
and Temple Beth El.
Mrs. Schild is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Nancy
Schild Kott and Brian Kott of
Bloomfield Hills and granddaughter
Elizabeth Schild Kott.
She was the beloved wife of the
late Fred J. Schild and the loving
sister of the late Trude Leubuscher
and the late Margrit Elkeles.
Interment was at Beth El
Memorial Park. Contributions to
make concerts events more accessi-
ble may be made to the Great Lakes
Chamber Music Festival, 755 W. Big
Beaver Road, Suite 214, Troy, MI
48084. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

HELENE L. WEINBERGER, 79,
of Scottsdale, Ariz., died Dec. 1.
She is survived by her daughters,
Michelle Cubas, Debra Weinberger
Weisberg; son Howard Weinberger
of Birmingham; sisters Peggy Himes
of Montreal, Veronica Coulson of
Brampton Ash, England; grandchil-
dren Stacey, Adam, Lisa, David,
Chelsea, Cody.
Interment was in Arizona.
Contributions may be made to the
Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure,
c/o Karmanos Cancer Institute, 110
E. Warren, Detroit, MI 48201.
