Addressing Community Needs ...Together
FEDERATI
PLANNING
DEPARTMENT
W
hen community needs arise, who addresses
them? Who determines priorities, searches
for answers and oversees the process
that will make the best use of our resources to help
the greatest number of people?
The Planning Department of the Jewish Federation
has a staff of professionals who work closely with
volunteers to make it all happen. With six standing
divisions and a number of committees, the Planning
Department assesses a broad range of needs, then
collaborates with Federation's agencies to develop
new programs.
Some examples? The new Dorothy and Peter Brown
Centers for people with Alzheimer's disease and other
dementia disorders. The doubling of in-home support
and transportation services for older adults. Significant
increases in support for our day schools and scholarships
for students in our congregational schools. The Pro-
Detroit program that engages young adults in the life of
our community. And many more.
All of us can be proud of our community's generous sup-
port of services that help people — and of the thoughtful,
comprehensive and compassionate way in which
Federation, in partnership with its local agencies, meet
the community's needs for today ... and tomorrow.
