fine labors of love.
Former Michigan Gov. Jim
Blanchard and wife, Janet, as usual so
smilingly gracious; Linda's hubby,
Barry Solomon, wishing he was hav-
ing some hamburgers at Hunter
House in Birmingham; Del Warner,
WDIV-TV, admiring the music of
Charles and Gwen Scales; Linda's
mom, Mona Rappaport, still taken for
Linda and Jill Rappaport's sister; Fred
and Gay Rubin, with Fred talking
about yesteryears on Livernois and
telling of recently seeing a cook who
used to work there at Robin Hood's;
Sam and Donna Frank and Jerry and
Michelle Goldberg admiring the art all
over Town Center's atrium.
IF YOU LIKE smiling waitresses ...
and who doesn't? ... you'll love Sandy
Key evenings at Morton's Steak House
in the Oakland Square Building on
Northwestern Highway Service Drive
... And besides her ever-smiling looks,
she's very personable, gracious and
efficient ... Sandy has been a waitress
at Morton's here since it opened in
1992 ... and is back in college for her
bachelor's degree in political science,
majoring in government ... Sandy's

Since the Benser family bought
Murdick's Fudge back in 1958, they
have added four new flavors to the
eight basics ... and now comes another
highly distinctive one ... cranberry ...
developed at his store on Martha's
Vineyard ... It has become so popular
that Bob is now making the cranberry
fudge at his stores on Mackinac
Island, Mackinac City and St. Ignace
... And do you think that anyone in
his right mind 100 years ago would
have dared dream that someday
Murdick's Fudge could be ordered on
the Internet?
WHERE THEY ARE DEPT. ... Pat
Tinetti, formerly 11 years with the
Troy Marriott, is the new director of
sales and marketing for the $44 mil-
lion Detroit Marriott Pontiac at
Centerpoint ... slated to open in 2000
... minutes from Auburn Hills.
It'll be a 290-room hotel owned by
Etkin Equities in Southfield ... and
have over 15,000 square feet of meet-
ing and banquet space with full cater-
