For Israel Study

Entry forms for the "Israel Dream
Lottery" are available for college students
who would like to spend a period of
time in Israel. The forms can be picked
up at congregations, campus Hillels and
the Michigan/Israel Connection of the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit, 6735 Telegraph, Suite 206,
Bloomfield Township.

Federation is offering the Israel Dream
Lottery and plans to award cash prizes
in the amount of $2,000 for a semester
program or up to $1,000 for shorter
programs. The lottery is open to metro-
politan Detroit-area students, age 30
and under, who have completed one
year of college by June 2000 and are
currently enrolled at any college or uni-
versity.
The cash prize may be applied to any
program approved by the
Michigan/Israel Connection. Deadline
for entry forms is March 10. The draw-
ing will take place March 23. Programs
must begin by Sept. 2001. Only one
entry is allowed per person.
Applicants may be eligible for addi-
tional financial assistance toward the
cost of the Israel experience through var-
ious other sources.
The Women's Department is funding
the award program with a portion of the
increased contributions to Federation's
Annual Campaign. Sue Erlich chairs the
Dream Lottery program. Ruth Beither is
associate chair.
