Federation is offering the Israel Dream Lottery and plans to award cash prizes in the amount of $2,000 for a semester program or up to $1,000 for shorter programs. The lottery is open to metro- politan Detroit-area students, age 30 and under, who have completed one year of college by June 2000 and are currently enrolled at any college or uni- versity. The cash prize may be applied to any program approved by the Michigan/Israel Connection. Deadline for entry forms is March 10. The draw- ing will take place March 23. Programs must begin by Sept. 2001. Only one entry is allowed per person. Applicants may be eligible for addi- tional financial assistance toward the cost of the Israel experience through var- ious other sources. The Women's Department is funding the award program with a portion of the increased contributions to Federation's Annual Campaign. Sue Erlich chairs the Dream Lottery program.
