West Bloomfield.
He is also the
grandson of the late
Stan Bellish. -
David is an eighth-grade honor
student at Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills. David's interests
include hockey (he plays for the
Farmington Hills Hockey
Association), football, baseball, golf
and snowmobiling. He also enjoys
water sports, such as boating, water
skiing, jet skiing and fishing.
Some of David's mitzvah projects
included assisting in coaching dur-
ing the mini-mite and mite hockey
season, helping at the PTA bake sale
at his brother's school, High
Meadow Common Campus. At
Temple Kol Ami, David helped with
the preparation of the NCCJ Holy
Strokes Golf Tournament and get-
ting grocery bags ready for the con-
gregation's Yom Kippur food drive.
David also volunteered at Yad Ezra
Food Pantry. In honor of his bar
Mitzvah, David made a generous
contribution and a kosher food con-
tribution to Yad Ezra.
Miriam Elizabeth Schwartz will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 13, at Temple Shir
Shalom. Miriam is
the daughter of Ann
Marie and Burt
Schwartz and grand-
daughter of Laurence
and Dolores Curley
and Sylvia and Harry
Schwartz of blessed
memory.
Miriam's most
meaningful mitzvah project includ-
ed serving as a teacher aide in the
Shir Shalom religious school and
organizing a bottle-and-can drive to
contribute to saving rain forests. In
addition, Miriam has pledged a por-
tion of her bat mitzvah money to
help endangered animals.
Miriam is an eighth grade student
at Covington Middle School in
Birmingham, where she plays violin in
the school orchestra. Also, she is an
accomplished pianist. Her other inter-
ests include animals and caring for
small children. She especially enjoys
water sports, including swimming,
canoeing, kayaking and white-water
rafting at Camp Tamarack.
