Noah Graham was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 6, at Temple
Kol Ami. He is the
son of Susan and
Robert Graham.
Noah is the grand-
son of Jewel
Madden of
Rochester Hills and
Howard Greene of
Southfield. He is
also the grandson of the late Libby
Greene.
Noah is an honor student at
Abbott Middle School in West
Bloomfield. His hobbies include ski-
ing and character illustration. His
mitzvah projects included preparing
holiday baskets for the needy and
helping with the Penny Harvest.

Jonathan Scott Jirik will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 13, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. He is
the son of Karen
and Allan Jirik,
brother of Benjamin
and Zachary, grand-
son of Ruth
Norman of Oak
Park and Winifred
Jirik of Lillian, Ala.
He is also the
grandson of the late David Norman
and Warren Jirik.
Jon is an honor student at Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan Detroit
in Farmington Hills, where he is on
the cross-country team. His hobbies
include singing, dancing, playing his
guitar and violin, aggressive skating
and snowboarding. His mitzvah
projects included collecting teddy
bears to be donated to Safe Place, a
kosher shelter for Jewish victims of
domestic violence; working at
Hadassah's annual rummage sale;
entertaining residents at Menorah
House with his violin; participating

in a Havdala evening for JARC resi-
dents; and serving meals to the
homeless at COTS, St. Leo's and
Ronald McDonald House.
Jon completed the 13 Mitzvot
program at Adat Shalom and partic-
ipated in the Tallit and Tefillin
Program as well as the Shoresh
youth group. He is an active parti-
cipant in Kadima, USY, BBYO and
Young Judaea. Jon has attained the
rank of First Class Boy Scout and is
a patrol leader for Troop 1000.
Each summer he attends Camp
Young Judaea in Waupaca, Wisc.

Carly Ilyse Katz will be called to

the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Friday, Nov. 12, at Temple Kol Ami.
She is the daughter
of Andrea and
Bruce Katz, and sis-
ter of Emily. Proud
grandparents are
Lallore Stone, and
Bernice and Donald
J. Katz. Carly also is
the granddaughter
of the late Sol P.
Stone.
Carly is an honor student at
Cranbrook Kingswood Middle
School. Her interests are music,
dance, singing, acting, reading and
the computer. Her mitzvah projects
included babysitting during the
High Holy Days at Temple Kol Ami
and- volunteering at Yad Ezra.

Ariella Sara Lis will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 13, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. She is
the sister of Liat,
Mataan and Aviv,
the daughter of
Hannan and Lisa
Lis and the grand-
daughter of Bill
and Florine Mark
Ross and Yosef and
Esti Lis. She is also
the great-granddaughter of Ruthie
Tucker.
Arielle is an honor student at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. Her
volunteer experiences include JARC,
Kids on Tour, Volunteer Impact and
Gleaners. She enjoys acting, singing
and volleyball.
