Cantor Corrsin was born in Detroit, attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor,
then moved to New York, where she established a career as a classical concert artist. After
earning her Master's degree from Hebrew Union College School of Sacred Music and her
ordination in 1992, she served as Cantor at Larchmont Temple in Larchmont, New York,
and in July came to Temple Israel. Her husband, Stephen Corrsin, Ph.D., also attended U of
M, and earned his doctorate in History. He is now Acting Head of Cataloging at Wayne
State University. The Corrsins have a seven year old daughter, Alexandra.

We invite you to be at Temple Israel on November 12 for the moving and beautiful Cantorial
Installation of Lori Corrsin as only the third Cantor and the first female clergy person to
be installed in Temple Israel's 58 year history.

Cantor Corrsin will be installed by Cantor Benjie Ellen Schiller, Cantor at Bet Am
Shalom synagogue in White Plains, New York. Cantor Schiller is a professor at the School
of Sacred Music at the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion. She is also a
recognized composer and has done various commissioned works for synagogues and choirs.
