After earning her Master's degree from Hebrew Union College School of Sacred Music and her ordination in 1992, she served as Cantor at Larchmont Temple in Larchmont, New York, and in July came to Temple Israel. Her husband, Stephen Corrsin, Ph.D., also attended U of M, and earned his doctorate in History. He is now Acting Head of Cataloging at Wayne State University. The Corrsins have a seven year old daughter, Alexandra. We invite you to be at Temple Israel on November 12 for the moving and beautiful Cantorial Installation of Lori Corrsin as only the third Cantor and the first female clergy person to be installed in Temple Israel's 58 year history. Cantor Corrsin will be installed by Cantor Benjie Ellen Schiller, Cantor at Bet Am Shalom synagogue in White Plains, New York. Cantor Schiller is a professor at the School of Sacred Music at the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion.
