Shari Rachel Rosen will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Oct. 23, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek. Shari is the
daughter of Debby
and Barry Rosen and
sister of Aaron. She is
the granddaughter of
Rita and Ellis Rifkin
and Eleanor and
Marvin Rosen.
Shari is an honor
student at Warner
Middle School in
Farmington Hills. An avid reader, she
also enjoys playing the violin and piano,
swimming, playing tennis and golf, and
skiing.
Her mitzvah projects included volun-
teering with the Shaarey Zedek Beth
Hayeled Day Camp program. She also
sang and played violin and piano in
concert at Fleischman Residence.

Jamie Sara Schare will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitz-
vah on Saturday, Oct.
23, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. She is the
daughter of Agnes
and Keith Schare and
the sister of Julie.
Proud grandmothers
are Magda Losonci
and Robert Schare.
She is the granddaughter of the late
Marvin Schare and the late Leslie
Losonci.
Jamie is an honor student at Walled
Lake Middle School. She enjoys cheer-
leading, dancing, skiing and the per-
forming arts. Her most meaningful
mitzvah projects were volunteering for a
JARC fund-raiser and donating to
Children's Hospital.

Michael Alan Shapiro (Haim Moshe) of
West Bloomfield will be bar mitzvah at
Congregation Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses on Saturday,
Oct. 23. Participating
in the ceremony will
be his parents,
Margie and Steven
Shapiro, brother
David and sister Lisa.
Proud grandparents
are Sara and Asa
Shapiro and
Josephine and Ernest Fridson.
Michael is an honor student at West
Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills.
He enjoys skiing and swimming.
Working at Yad Ezra was one of his
most meaningful mitzvah projects.

Shana Ashley Supowit will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Oct. 23, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Shana is the daughter
of Debbie and Jeff
Supowit and sister of
Samantha and Jordan.
She is the grand-
daughter of Marcia
and Gerald Sinkoff
and the late Esther
and Aaron Supowit.
Shana is an honor student at O.E.
Dunckel Middle School in
Farmington Hills. She enjoys music,
winter sports and swimming. She vol-
unteered at JARC and Adat Shalom
for her mitzvah projects.
Shana read Torah at Masada on the
Adat Shalom Family Mission to Israel.

Steven Michael Zacks will celebrate his
bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on Friday,
Oct. 22. He is the son of David Zacks
and Elizabeth and
William Harrison and
brother of Jeremy.
Proud grandparents
are Bernice Davidson
and Joseph Rhodes.
He is also the grand-
son of the late
Margaret Rhodes and
the late Joel Zacks.
Steven's mitzvah projects included vol-
unteering at Gleaners Food Bank, assist-
ing at the Temple Israel Labor Day pic-
nic and donating to the homeless. A stu-
dent at Bloomfield Hills Middle School,
Steven is interested in photography,
music, rock climbing and in-line skating.

Out Of State
Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Courtney Michelle Bloom, formerly of
West Bloomfield, celebrated her bat
mitzvah on Sept. 4 at Temple Chai in
Scottsdale, Ariz.
She is the daughter
of Robin and Rick
Bloom and sister of
Jenny. Courtney was
fortunate to have
both sets of grandpar-
ents, Ina and Norman
Rosenberg and Joan
and Jerry Bloom, join
in the celebration along with many
other friends and family from the
Detroit area.
Courtney's most meaningful mitzvah
project was donating her time organiz-
ing a canned food drive; the food was
distributed to organizations in the
greater Phoenix area.
