Over $20,000 was raised for Mak-
A-Dream Camp in Montana, found-
ed by Birmingham-ites Harry and
Sylvia Granader, for children and
young adults with cancer ... and their
families.
THE MAJOR PROBLEM of ade-
quate help in restaurants has grown to
scary proportions ... Dining spots are
closing and owners pulling out their
hair ... The scarcity of good help has
caused many restaurateurs to panic and
hire inept people who lose more cus-
tomers than the restaurants serve food.
Another restaurant to bite the dust
because of this is Flying Fish on
Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield
... shutting its doors recently because of
the sad problem ... Thankfully, though,
its closing by Matt Prentice and his
Unique Restaurant Corporation did not
put people out of work ... The restau-
rant's staff members were relocated at
Matt's Flying Fish Tavern on 13 Mile in
Beverly Hills, and his Deli Unique of
West Bloomfield.
A NON-KOSHER preview of
kosher foods to be served at Matt's Milk
& Honey kosher restaurant, slated to
open in spring 2000 at the Jewish
Community Center in West Bloomfield,
will be a five-course dinner Nov. 3 and
4, 7 p.m. at his Morels on Telegraph.
