Rabbi Moskowitz
Receives Award

Rabbi Michael Moskowitz of Temple
Shir Shalom has earned the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit's
1999 Federation
Rabbinical Award.
The award goes
annually to a local
rabbi who has made
a significant impact
on the community
through volunteer
and professional
Rabbi Michael
work.
Moskowitz
Rabbi Moskowitz
helped plan Federation's Teen Missions
to Israel in 1996 and 1998 and is help-
ing to plan the 2000 Teen Mission. He
also works with the West Bloomfield
Clergy Association, building relation-
ships with other faith-based institutions
in the area.
Among his duties at Shir Shalom,
Rabbi Moskowitz has focused his work
with the alternative, experimental educa-
tional programs. He has worked on the
synagogue's new seventh- and eighth-
grade program, as well as enrichment
and development of the high school
program.
As the recipient of the award,
Rabbi Moskowtitz will attend the
1999 General Assembly in Atlanta
next month.
Rabbi Moskowitz has served on the
board of the Agency for Jewish
Education and serves on the Michigan
Region Anti-Defamation League and
the Nurse Advisory Council at
William Beaumont Hospital. He is the
rabbinical representative on the
Chaplaincy Council of the Michigan
Department of Corrections and the
immediate past president of the West
Bloomfield Clergy Association and
Community Forum, an interfaith
community leadership workshop.

Workshop Set
For Homeowners

The Neighborhood Project Homeowner
Workshop will be held from 7-9 p.m.
