Hillel Shoppers

As a convenient way for parents to fulfill
their obligation to the Give/Get
Program, Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit is participating in
SOKS, the Supporting Our Kids'
School Program sponsored by Toy-
Shoppe, a Web site in the specialty toy
industry offering only non-violent, fun
educational toys.
As a participating SOKS chapter,
Toy-Shoppe has assigned a SOKS iden-
tification number to each Hillel family.
The number tracks the Give/Get pro-
gram participation for each family. At
the online checkout, parents enter the
number and 10-12 percent of their over-
all purchase is credited to the family's
Give/Get account. Shoppers can also
contribute to Hillel Day School's general
fund by using ID No. PR0001.
Hillel parents will be able to evaluate
the toys available from the Toy-Shoppe
during Hillel Day School Night 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Doll Hospital
and Toy Soldier Shop in Berkley. For
information, call (248) 543-3115.

Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis offers substantial.
opportunities for resolving otherwise difficult moral
dilemmas related to the termination of pregnancies.
In this lecture, Dr. Brody will develop this theme and
apply it to a number of examples. He will also explore
the limits of this new approach by examining the potential
use of preimplantation diagnosis for gender selection.
