FELIX "PHIL" HOWER, 88, of
Farmington Hills, died Sept. 14.
Mr. Hower was one of the original
partners and a past president of the
W.B. Doner advertising agency. While
there, he created the slogans "If you
read the News you know" and
"Manufacturers — that's my bank."
After his retirement, he became a con-
sultant.
During World War II, Mr. Hower
was . with the Army Counter
Intelligence Corps. He was a graduate
of the University of Detroit, a mem-
ber of Tam O'Shanter Country Club
and was active with the Adcraft Club.
Mr. Hower is survived by his wife
of 58 years, Roslyn Hower; daughter
Dale Hower of Aspen, Colo. and
grandchildren Lauren and Evan
Solheim.
He was the loving father of the late
Barbara Hower.
Interment at Beth Abraham
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to the Hospice of Michigan.
