Mr. Hower was one of the original partners and a past president of the W.B. Doner advertising agency. While there, he created the slogans "If you read the News you know" and "Manufacturers — that's my bank." After his retirement, he became a con- sultant. During World War II, Mr. Hower was . with the Army Counter Intelligence Corps. He was a graduate of the University of Detroit, a mem- ber of Tam O'Shanter Country Club and was active with the Adcraft Club. Mr. Hower is survived by his wife of 58 years, Roslyn Hower; daughter Dale Hower of Aspen, Colo. and grandchildren Lauren and Evan Solheim. He was the loving father of the late Barbara Hower.
