The Anti-Defamation League invites
nominations for its ADL Woman of
Achievement Award.
This annual award, to be presented
in spring 2000, honors women in our
community who advance the ADL
philosophy of "translating democratic
ideals into a way of life for all citi-
zens." Nominations of women who
promote these ideals in their profes-
sional and/or volunteer work are
requested.
Honorees are chosen for their
efforts to promote understanding
among the diverse racial, religious and
ethnic communities of metropolitan
Detroit.

Fourteen college students recently com-
pleted internships sponsored by the
Jeanette and Oscar Cook Jewish
Occupational Intern (JOIN) program.
For eight weeks during the summer,
full-time college students work closely
with professionals in areas of business
administration, marketing and commu-
nications, research program planning,
human services and community rela-
tions. Through the paid internships,
undergraduate and graduate students
gain essential work experience and estab-
lish professional contacts which can
prove beneficial in future job hunting.
