Special to the Jewish News
A
ppetizers, soup and
salads can be as wild
and crazy as we want
them to be for the
after-shul repast.
The key to a really great appe-
tizer or first course is to serve
something that can be made
ahead of time and served quickly.
This new year, if you are con-
sidering serving items that are
ready to serve but need to be
warmed before serving, serve
them after the salad and soup in-
stead of before.
A hot appetizer should be
popped in the oven to warm the
second you walk in the door,
and then everyone can sit down
and enjoy soup or a salad togeth-
er.
The following soup, salad
and appetizer recipes are easy to
make, can all be made at least
one day in advance and are dif-
ferent enough to spice up any of
the holiday meals you have to
prepare this year.
