Daniel Evan Diskin will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Aug. 14,
at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. Rabbis
Efry Spectre, Daniel
Nevins and Herbert
Yoskowitz will offi-
ciate at the services.
Participating in
the services will be
parents Jeffrey and
Sharon Diskin and sister Rachel.
Proud grandparents are Isadore and
Edith Averbuch of West Bloomfield
and Martin and Dorothy Diskin of
Farmington Hills.
Dan is an eighth grader at Norup
Middle School in Oak Park, where
he plays in the jazz and concert
bands. He is active in hockey and
golf.
For his mitzvah projects, Dan vol-
unteered for the seuda shlishit pro-
gram of JARC, participated in a
Shabbat dinner for Kadima and
spent time with severely
mentally/multiply impaired students
at the Moses Field Center in
Detroit.
