Gets Director

Jordana Weiss is the new assistant direc-
tor of the Planning Agency Relations
Department of the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit. Weiss, with
Federation for three years, formerly was
a planning associate for
that department.
Weiss will staff the
Max M. Fisher Jewish
Community
Foundation, the Jewish
Education Division
and the National
jordana Weiss
Agencies Work Group.
She completed internships with the
Jewish community centers in metropoli-
tan Detroit and Baltimore and with
Jewish Family Service in Baltimore. She
worked for the Jewish Student
Information Center in Jerusalem.
Weiss holds a dual master's degree in
social work and Jewish studies from the
Baltimore Institute of Jewish
Communal Service.

Temple Israel
Judaism Course

Temple Israel will begin an 11-week
introduction to Judaism course
7:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at
the temple.
This class is open to anyone interest-
7:it'd in learning more about Judaism or is
considering conversion to Judaism. It
will be taught by temple clergy. Two
Holocaust sessions will be included with
a field trip to the Holocaust Memorial
Center, next to the D. Dan & Betty
Kahn Building of the Jewish
Community Censer in West Bloomfield.

Burton Collection
Tour For Genealogists

The Jewish Genealogical Society of
Michigan will host a trip to the Burton
Collection of the Detroit Public Library
on Wednesday, Aug. 25.
For those wanting to join for dinner,
meet at 5 p.m. at Deli Unique,
Telegraph, south of 13 Mile, Bingham
Farms. For those only going to Burton,
carpools will leave at 5:45 p.m. from
Deli Unique and will return at 9 p.m.
