The 66th annual Balfour
Celebration Concert of the Zionist
Organization of
America will be held
7:30 p.m. Sunday,
Oct. 17, at
Orchestra Hall.
Joseph F. Savin, a
ZOA vice president
and community
leader, has been
Joseph Savin
named chairman of
the concert and cam-
paign committee.
Anne Gonte Silver, a
former ZOA presi-
dent, will serve as
honorary associate
chair and Anne
Brand will chair the
Balfour Women's
Committee.
Anne Brand
Co-chairs of the
Women's Committee
are Margaret
Kaufman, Pauline
Klein, Billie Kramer,
Yvette Mandell and
Dr. Ann Mann.
Proceeds of the
concert will benefit
ZOA's domestic pub-
lic relations and
Anne Gonte
information on
Silver
Capitol Hill and
nationwide, as well
as its Israel-based educational and
cultural projects: the ZOA House,
Tel Aviv's cultural center, and the
Kfar Silver youth village and educa-
tional campus near Ashkelon, Israel.
Also aided will be ZOA's Masada-
Maccabi Summer in Israel programs,
which take high school and college
students to Israel annually and pro-
vide scholarship assistance to quali-
fied students:

Mackinac Island
Shabbat Service

A Shabbat service will be held 7:30
p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, in the social
hall of the Trinity Episcopal Church
on Mackinac Island. Rabbi Stacie
Fine of Congregation Ahavat
Shalom in Traverse City will lead the
service in Hebrew and English.
Dress is casual with an oneg Shabbat
and ask the rabbi session following
the service. For information call,
