Detroit will participate in the
United Jewish Communities'
1999 Singles Mission to Israel
— almost twice the number of 1998 par-
ticipants.
Many are making their first trek to
Israel. The mission, July 4-14, is
designed for ages 23-40.
A total of 450 singles hosted by feder-
ations in Chicago, San Francisco, Los
Angeles, Houston, Dallas and Miami
will join the Detroiters.
Israeli tour guides
will lead the group
to ancient and mod-
ern sites. Participants
will visit the Central
Galilee, Michigan's
Partnership 2000 sis-
ter region in the
north.
Partnership 2000
links Jewish commu-
nities around the
world and in Israel
for people-to-people
relationships in cul-
ture, business, medi-
cine, education and
