The Trowbrid

ber of Michigan's Quilting Guild,
Cohen. sees the mission of quilting as
charity. Although the commemorative
quilt's Jewish theme makes it differ-
ent, she maintains that the message is
the same.
The quilt has been displayed at
national Associates' meetings and
Rosenberg would like it to be shown
at the. Janice Charach Epstein
Museum/Gallery of the D. Dan &
Betty Kahn Jewish Community
Center in West Bloomfield.
Sherie Koshover, a staff member of
a Jewish home in San Francisco,
applauds Rosenberg for her creative
idea. "Symbolically,' says Koshover,
"the quilt has been a wonderful
opportunity for bringing the homes
closer together. It's allowed for the
expression of our -individual identities
within a larger frameWOrk."
Tanya Shapiro of Portland, Maine,
says a recent meeting "just stopped"..
when the quilt was shown: "The quilt
brought tears to people's eyes." 7
