The frenzied bidding of some 600 -
guests and a festive tropical theme
were part of the successful recent
event for Detroit Country Day
School. The event grossed $600,000
and netted $375,000. Mike and
Michelle Zeid and Bobby and
Cynthia Roman were the auction co-
chairmen. Some of the other support-
ers included Debbie and Rick
Partrich, Anne and Steve Weiner,
Laura and Steve Korotkin, Linda and
Leonard Sahn, Margo and Bruce
Karmann, Robert Levy, Dana and
Jim Selis, Margo and Steve
Goodman, Julie and Eric Borman
and Maddee and Al Adelson.
Eton Academy held a "Back to the
Future" auction in April at the Henry
Ford Museum in Dearborn, raising
more than $130,000 for the
Birmingham school whose students are
challenged by learning disabilities. More
than 250 patrons attended the event.
The selected senior student speaker was
Leora Green of West Bloomfield,
daughter of Sam and Sara Green. Leora
spoke to the crowd about her plans to
attend Long Island University. Eton par-
ents David and Julie Dean held the
lucky raffle ticket for a 1999 Ford
Mustang GT convertible, donated by
Ford Motor Company.
Now, in addition to her hands-on
involvement with the program, Nora and
Guy have put their generous financial
support behind it.
Their gift to the Millennium Campaign for
Detroit's Jewish Future, sponsored by the
Jewish Federation and United Jewish
Foundation of Metropolitan Detroit, will
