She was the beloved wife of the late
Harry Jacobson.

Farmington Hills, died May 27.
Mr. Jacobowitz was an automotive man-
ufacturer's representative. He was a member
of the Manufacturer's Representative
Association, a past member of the Great
Lakes Club and a volunteer at Temple Beth
El. He had an impact on the automotive
interior trim industry with the Big Three
automobile companies.
A fifth generation American, Mr.
Jacobowitz is survived by his wife, Lois
Jacobowitz; son and daughter-in-law
Charles and Sandra Jacobowitz of West
Bloomfield; daughters and son-in-law
Ellen Jacobowitz of West Bloomfield,
Ann and David Conrad of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren Aaron and
Lesley Jacobowitz; sister-in-law Ruth
Jacobowitz.
Mr. Jacobowitz was the loving grandfa-
ther of the late Elizabeth Ann Conrad and
the dear brother of the late Arnold
Jacobowitz.

Mrs. Karbel is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Lana and
Kenneth Hough of Dewitt; son and
daughter-in-law Gary and Janice Karbel
of Sterling Heights; grandchildren
Kenny, Amy and David Karbel, Karen
and David Hoene, Michael and Laura
Hurwitz; great-grandchildren Katana,
Maya, Sequoia and Cresent.
Mrs. Karbel was the beloved wife of the
late Nathan Karbel.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

LUANE JOAN MITTENTHAL MICK-

ELL of Beverly Hills and Palm Desert,
Calif, died May 28. She will be remem-
bered at a memorial
service 4:30 p.m.,
Monday, June 14, at
Temple Shir Shalom.
Mrs. Mickell, a
native Detroiter,
attended Central
High School. Her
family were found-
ing members of
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek. She
moved to Los Angeles in 1959 with her hus-
band Jerry and daughter Stacey. Her hus-
band, who formed Ortho Mattress with his
brothers in 1961, died in 1995.
Mrs. Mickell was active in PTA and
Beverly Hills politics. She served two terms
as a city commissioner. She funded a chil-
dren's library collection in memory of her
niece, Jill Mickell. She served on the board
of the Leora Branch of Beverly Hills
Hadassah and was a founding member of
Stop Cancer.
Mrs. Mickell is survived by her daughter,
Stacey Mickell; brother Stuart (Diane)
Mictenthal;. sister-in-law Edith Slotkin;
brother-in-law Sherman (Linda) Mickell; sis-
ter-in-law Dolores Mickell.
Interment in Los Angeles. Contributions
may be made to Stop Cancer, 9171 Wilshire
Blvd., Suite 607, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.

FAY OPPENHEIM, 87, of Highland Park,

Ill., died May 31.
Mrs. Oppenheim is survived by her
daughter, Gail Oppenheim of Chicago; son
and daughter-in-law David and Sally
Oppenheim; grandchildren Randy Bogus,
Benjamin Oppenheim; brother Morton
Garber; sisters and brother-in-law Joyce and
L
Dr. Bernie Lipman of Atlanta and Rhoda
Kaufman.
Mrs. Oppenheim was the beloved wife of
the late Theodore "Ted" Oppenheim and
the loving grandmother of the late Robin
Sara Blume.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

LOUIS PARZEN, 95, of Southfield died

May 31. He was a self-employed scrap paper
executive.
Mr. Parzen is survived by his wife, Tillie
Parzen; daughters and son-in-law Shayne
and Morry Silverman of Farmington Hills,
Gloria Stevens of Northbrook, Ill.; grand-
children Jeffrey and Tiffany Silverman, Julie
and Edmund Sachse, Eric Silverman, Todd
Stevens, Craig Stevens, Marc Stevens; great-
grandchildren Jake and Erin Sachse and
Mikelanne Silverman; sister-in-law Anne
Parzen.
Mr. Parzen was the dear brother of the
late Rabbi Herbert Parzen, the late George
Parzen and the late Florence Friedman.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
