Hosts Speaker

The founder and principal of a
Washington, D.C., law firm specializing
in Holocaust-related reparations and
restitution claims against Germany will
address the Cardozo Law Society, 7:30
a.m. Thursday, May 20, at the Max M.
\Fisher Federation Building.
Attorney William R. Marks will
speak on "Imperfect Justice: The
Ongoing Battle for Holocaust
Restitution." Sponsored by the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit,
the Cardozo Law Society provides
Jewish judges and attorneys with
Jewish learning, involvement and net-
working opportunities.

person charge of $10.
Marks opened his law firm in May
1996 at the urging of Holocaust sur-
vivors who contacted him seeking
reparations assistance. He is a mem-
ber of the litigation team that
brought the original and successful
\--lass-action suits against Swiss banks
and subsequent suits against
European insurers, German and
Austrian banks and companies that
employed wartime slave labor.

Bake Off
At Food Fair

There will be a kosher cake bake off
during the Kosher Food Fair at the
Jimmy Prentis Morris building of the
'Jewish Community Center in Oak Park.
Anyone is eligible to enter the contest
and there is no entrance fee. Those

Poppy Sales
Aid JAW

The Michigan Jewish War Veterans and
Ladies Auxiliary will conduct the annual
sale of poppies on Thursday and Friday,
May 13 and 14.
All funds collected will be used for
servicing hospitalized veterans and relat-
