FAMILY MEMBERS

The Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit will stage "From
Pesach to Shavuot: Countdown to
Receiving the Torah," a family program
about the seven weeks of the Omer.
Taking place simultaneously at both
the Kahn and JPM buildings on April
18, the program will feature crafts so
kids ages 4-12 can learn about the
Omer, the 50 days of the harvest season
between Passover and Shavuot.
Kids will be able to create crafts, such
as a depiction of the crossing of the Red
Sea, harvest a fun-to-eat "crop" like an
ancient Israelite farmer, and make their
own tablets of the Ten Commandments.
One of the highlights is creating a game
families can play right away and take
home to play again and again. The fare
also will include ice-cream sundaes cour-
t esy of Golden Valley Dairy and a raffle
t o win a family pack of David Syme
concert tickets.
Tickets are $3 per family if purchased
by April 12 or $5 afterward. For infor-
mation on the programs, call the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Building in Oak Park,
