Every family will receive a package
containing chicken, matzah, soup mix,
grape juice, gefilte fish, eggs, horserad-
ish, coffee cake mix, matzah meal, maca-
roons, produce and other items specifi- .
cally for use during Passover.
When Yad Ezra clients pick up their
holiday food packages, they will be
given Passover guides printed in English
and Russian from the Agency for Jewish
Education of Metropolitan Detroit and
haggadot donated by the Joseph Jacobs
Organization in New York. Mike Balkin
and Balkin Products are supplying food
boxes and Eugene Sherizen and Lighting
Supply Co. are helping with logistics for
the special food distribution.
Yad Ezra, located in Oak Park,
opened in 1990 in response to the grow-
ing number of hungry Jewish families in
the Detroit community. The kosher
food pantry is expected to distribute
almost 30,000 pounds of Passover food.
