When Sorry is Not Enough

NORMAN AXELROD, 62, of Moorpark,

Calif., formerly of Detroit, died March 14.
He is survived by his sons and daugh-
ter-in-law, Michael and Kathryn Axelrod
of Alpharetta, Ga., Randy Axelrod of
Moorpark; daughters and sons-in-law Lisa
and Julio Leal of Moorpark, Sheryl and
Chuck Daniels of Redding, Calif.; sister
and brother-in-law Barbara and Arnold
Stone of Florida; sister-in-law and brother-
in-law Roslyn Kauffman Ungar and Harry
Ungar; grandchildren Daniel Axelrod,
Robin Axelrod, Amy Key.
Mr. Axelrod was the beloved husband
of the late Elaine Axelrod; loving son of
the late David and Rose Axelrod.

FANNIE BERMAN, 84, of Farmington

Hills, died March 11.
Mrs. Berman was a member of
Women's American ORT, Hadassah, the
Dimona Chapter of Na'amat USA and
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
She is survived by her son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Dr. Jack and Dr. Barbara
Berman of Los Angeles; grandchildren Jay
Jackson, Bruce Jackson, Dr. Paul and Traci
Jackson, Joshua Berman, Deborah
Berman; great-grandson Jacob Jackson.
Mrs. Berman was the beloved wife of
the late Ben Berman and the loving moth-
er of the late Joyce Jackson.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

USA and Women's American ORT.
Arrangements by the Ira Kaufman Chapel.
WILLIAM DAVID CHAIKIN, 54, of
Bloomfield Hills, died March 7.
He is survived by his mother, Annabel
Chaikin of Farmington Hills; sister Susan
Chaikin of Detroit.

Bloomfield, died March 13.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Elliot
Feldman of Columbus, Ohio; daughter
and son-in-law Sally and Sidney Lepofsky
of Oak Park; grandchildren William
Lepofsky, Barry and Sherri Lepofsky, Dr.
Bryan and Missy Feldman, Andy Feldman;
great-grandchildren Natalie Feldman,
Oliveria Feldman, Lauren Garrici, Jeffery
Garrici.
Mrs. Feldman was the beloved wife of
the late Nathan Feldman.

DALE FRIEND, 71, of Rockville, Md.,
died March 7. She was a school librarian

and knitting teacher in the Washington,
D.C. area.
She is survived by her sister, Suzanne
Himelhoch of Flint; nephew and niece
David and Debbie Himelhoch of
Farmington Hills, Neil Himelhoch of
Kalamazoo.
She was the beloved wife of the late Leo
Friend and the late Robert J. Hammer.

BETTY GREEN, 82, of Farmington

Hills, died March 9.
For 35 years, Mrs. Green was a co-
owner of Green's Shoes in Allen Park. Mrs.
Green was a lifetime member of Hadassah,
a member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek
and its sisterhood, a volunteer for
Alzheimer's Association support groups
and the Jewish Welfare Federation, and a
50-year member of the Minyan Girls
Bridge Group.
