DR. ABRAHAM J. ALPER, 97, of
Southfield, died Feb. 22.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret
Alper; son and daughter-in-law Dr.
Bernard and Candace Alper of West
Bloomfield; daughters and son-in-law
Paula and Issac Katz of Oak Park,
Barbara Alper of New York City; grand-
children Edith and Matthew Kamins,
Leonard and Sarah Katz, Reva and
Yisroel Safrin, Jeffrey Katz, Jason Alper,
Aaron Alper; great-grandchildren
Batsheva, Nechamia, Yeshia, Yeshezkel

SARAH E. BINDES, 74, of Oak Park,

died Feb. 20. Mrs. Bindes was a con-
struction bookkeeper.

Bindes of Royal Oak; son and daughter-
in-law Howard H. and Keri Bindes of
Oak Park; grandchildren Adam Salinger,

S.C.
Mrs. Bindes was the beloved wife of
the late Louis Bindes.

IDA E. EHRLICH, 81, of Southfield,

died Feb. 20.
Mrs. Ehrlich is survived by her
daughter, Phyllis Ehrlich of Southfield;
son and daughter-in-law Michael and
Beverly Ehrlich of Las Vegas; sisters
Dorothy Horowitz of Southfield;
Beatrice Zerkel of Oak Park; grandchil-
dren Jamison and Amy Pollack, Jennifer
and Terin Ehrlich.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Jack Ehrlich.

SOLOMON EMMER, 80, of Saugus,

Calif., died Feb. 9. Mr. Emmer, a
Detroit-area resident for over 40 years,
belonged to the Teamsters Union and
Jewish War Veterans.

SHIRLEY HAUSER, 76, of Southfield,

died Feb. 19.
Mrs Hauser was a docent at the
Detroit Institute of Art. As an artist,
she sold her paintings, pencil and
charcoal drawings and African jewelry
to Hudson's and to Cartier in New
York. She was a member of Hadassah
and Brandeis National Women's
Committee.
Mrs. Hauser is survived by her
son, Meryl Hauser of Chicago;
daughters Kay Hauser of Southfield,
Wendy Hauser of Virginia; brother
and sister-in-law Chet and Joyce
Phillipson of California; sisters-in-
law Diane Hauser and Dr. Pearl
Hauser.
For 48 years, Mrs. Hauser was the
beloved wife of the late Dr. Maurice
J. Hauser.
Interment at Beth El Memorial

Farmington Hills, died Feb. 15.
Ms. Kaye was the founder and presi-
dent from 1960-
1975 of Dowood
Soap Company, a
seller of soap to recto-
ries and nursing
homes. She was a
pianist and taught
piano. She was also a
president of Pioneer
Women and a mem-
ber of Women's American ORT.
Ms. Kaye is survived by her daughters
and son-in-law, Faylene and Larry Owen
of East Lansing, Sherry Kaye of
Farmington Hills; grandchildren Cind7=
and Steven Hughey, Marc Curtis; great-7)
grandchildren Jennifer Hughey, Eric
Hughey and Brittany Curtis.
She was the loving daughter of the
late Fanny and the late Isaac Ekelman
and the dear sister of the late Dr. Harol
Ekelman and the late Nate Ekelman.
