From Our Families To Yours .. .
It's seldom that we have the opportunity to say
thanks for the past year.
WHILE VISITING in North
Scottsdale, Arizona, Buddy Disner got
his first hole-in-one ... on the three-
par, 172-yard second hole at Troon
Country Club ... playing with David
Rosenman, also vacationing from
hereabouts.
THE KOSHER restaurant still on
Matt Prentice's drawing board will not
be open until he finds the right place.
Besides being a kosher restaurant,
he says it has to be large enough for
complete kosher catering facilities ...
plus house a bakeshop to make his
own breads, pastries, bagels, etc.
It will be open for breakfast, lunch
and dinner, he says ... with service
including traditional Sunday morning
bagels and lox.
ALSO IN THE kosher picture now
is Phil Tewel of Jewel Kosher Catering
... He's looking to open a kosher Chi-
nese restaurant with a Chinese partner.
THE LONG LINE that extended
almost across the strip mall was evi-
dence that something big was going
on ... I asked one of the guys in line
and he said, "Garbage!" ... I thought
he was disgusted but discovered the
gent was thrilled at the prospect of
soon being with members of his
favorite recording group of the day.
Garbage was the band's name at an
autograph session at Harmony House
on Orchard Lake Road in West
Bloomfield ... In other words, "Get
with it, Raskin!"
COCO'S KORNER ... "Green-
field Animal Hospital that has taken
care of me since I was born, sure
makes a poodle proud of Dr. Byron
and his people there. Less than 17
percent of the small animal hospitals
in the nation get the high recogni-
tion it was given by the American
Animal Hospital Association, the
international group of more than
12,000 veterinarians who treat us
pets. It got a terrific four-year
accreditation (like that word?) after a
complete examination (they get
those, too) by the association s
trained consultants."
WHAT'S GOOD for one is okay,
too, for the other ... And so sisters
Cheryl and Karen Daskas continue
their do-alikes by being given co-
awards as Business Persons of the Year
by the Birmingham-Bloomfield •
Chamber of Commerce . . . Cheryl
and Karen own Tender Ladies bou-
tique in Birmingham.
ANYBODY KNOW where to find
the former chefs of Hunan Palace that
was located on 12 Mile and North-
western? ... Laura Kay is looking for
the Hunan Chicken they used to make
Without you it couldn't have been done. You and
you alone made 1998 unbelievably successful for
