ROSELEA KOHEN, 84, of Harris-
burg, Virg., died Dec. 13. Mrs. Kohen
—was a retired elementary school teacher.
She is survived by her sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, Andrew and Janet Kohen of
Virginia, Daniel and Harriet Kohen of
Minnesota; daughter and son-in-law,
Naomi and Stephen Handelman of
Farmington Hills; grandchildren, Mar-
shall and Lynn Kohen, Elissa, Joshua
and Aaron Kohen, Ethan Handelman
d Kate Epstein, Shira Handelman;
great-grandson, Jacob Kohen and sister,
Sylvia Harrison of Colorado. Mrs.
Kohen was the beloved wife of the late
Benjamin Kohen.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be directed to

JANE KRUGER, 52, of Farmington
died Jan. 3. She is survived by her
sister, Beverly Friedman; loving niece,
Kayla; many dear cousins and. friends.

NORMAN I. LEEMON, 78, of West
Bloomfield, died Jan. 2. Mr. Leemon
graduated from
Detroit Central
High School at
16 and completed
his bachelor's
degree and law
degree at Wayne
State University
by age 21. Mr.
Leemon began
the practicing law
in 1942 with his
father Joseph R Leemon and married
his former wife, Frieda Smolinsky
Leemon, that same year. In 1947 he
1 formed Lee Mortgage Corporation, later
—Kn own as Michigan Mortgage Corpora-
tion. During the early 1950s, together
with his father and brother, Mr. Leemon
founded Guardian Savings & Loan
Association and American Title Insur-
ance Co., and was active in residential
real estate development.
He retired in 1988. He was a mem-
ber of Labor Zionist organizations in his
tvuth, member of Tau Epsilon Rho
legal fraternity and president of Wayne
University's Philomathic Debating Soci-
ety.
Mr. Leemon served as president of
Adat Shalom Synagogue during the late
1970s and was instrumental in restoring
fiscal stability. Afterward, he continued

to serve on the synagogue's board. Mr.
Leemon contributed to the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation, Israel Bonds and other
Jewish organizations. He also was a
member of Downtown Synagogue.
He is survived by his daughter, Judith
A. Holtz; sons and daughter-in-law,
Sheldon and Lenore Leemon of Hunt-
ington Woods, Mark Leemon and
fiancee Sidney Royer of Mercer Island,
Wash.; brother and sister-in-law,
Philmore and Judith Ann Leemon of
I As Vegas; sisters and brothers-in-law,
Ruth and Ralph Miller of West Bloom-
field, Betty Ann and Kurt Singer of
Southfield; grandchildren, Meredith and
Adam Weingarden, Jason R Holtz,
Ethan R Holtz, Joseph R. Leemon,
Elizabeth Leemon, Joseph H. Portnoy-
Leemon, Sonia Portnoy-Leemon; 24
nieces and nephews; and special friend
Riva Scherr. He was the son of the late
Joseph R. and Freda Leemon.

FRANCES LEFKOWITZ, 91, of West
Bloomfield, died Dec. 15. Mrs.
Lefkowitz was the co-owner of Herman
Jewelers with five stores in Mississippi.
She received her MBA from Columbia
University and was a past president of
the Hadassah Chapter in Jackson, Miss.
Mrs. Lefkowitz is survived by her
daughters and son-in-law, Lois Simon of
East Lansing, Ann and Jerry Megalizzi
of West Bloomfield; son and daughter-
in-law, Herman and Diane Lefkowitz of
Penscola, Fla.; grandchildren, Cheryl
and Michel Lyman, Eric and Patti
Simon, Todd Simon, Beth Simon, Brad
and Janice Lefkowitz, Lisa Lefkowitz,
Jason Megalizzi, Jenna Megalizzi and
great-grandchildren, Jarred and Gabriel
Lyman and Claire Simon.
Interment in Jackson, Miss. Contri-

the American Heart Association.
HARRY J. LEVITAN, 86, of Oak Park,
died Dec. 29. Mr. Levitan was a build-
ing hardware representative. He was a
crew chief and blister gunner in the
Army Air Corps, a mason and a shriner,
was active with the Oak Park Lodge, the
Craftsman Lodge, a volunteer with the
Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy
Marathon, the Shriner Circus, Variety
Club, the Children's Hospital and a
member of Temple Emanu-El.
Mr. Levitan is survived by his wife,
Charlotte Levitan; daughter, Rona Levi-
tan of West Hollywood, Fla.; son and
