For Chanukah

The December program of Shaarey
Zedek Productions will feature
Shaarey Zedek students who will
sing and tell the story of Chanukah.
The second segment of the tele-
cast, hosted and produced by Geri
Levit, is a summary of the Teen
Mission, summer 1998. Steven Katz
and Dan Freeman will tell of their
experiences in Israel. Tobve Bello
will talk of the next teen mission.
Karen Katz co-hosted this segment.

Sam Wasser, a former Detroiter who

is scientific director of the Center for
Wildlife Conservation in Seattle, was
featured in the November-December
Audubon magazine. The article cen-
tered on the stress levels in wild ani-
mals living near man. Dr. Wasser
detects stress levels by measuring
hormones in bear and wolf feces. A
graduate of Southfield High School
and Michigan State University, Dr.
Wasser earned his doctorate at the
University of Washington, where he
now is a professor.

Ari Scharg of West Bloomfield has

been selected to attend the National
Young Leaders Conference from Feb.
16-21, in Washington, D.C. The
conference is a leadership develop-
ment program for high school stu-
dents who demonstrate leadership
potential and scholastic merit.
