Hears Bollinger

University of Michigan President Lee
C. Bollinger will address the next
meeting of the Jewish Federation's
Cardozo Society 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Westin
Hotel, 1500
Town Center,
Southfield. The
Cardozo Society
hosts programs
for members of
the legal profes-
sion.
Bollinger will
focus on affirma-
tive action in his
speech titled
Lee Bollinger
"The Ideal of
Brown vs. the
Board of Education at the End of the
Century."
Bollinger joined the U-M Law
School faculty in 1973 and later was
named dean of the law school, a posi-
tion he held for seven years. Bollinger
became provost of Dartmouth
College and professor of government
in July 1994 and was named U-M
president in 1996. His primary teach-
ing and scholarly interests center on
free speech and First Amendment
issues.

The November program of Shaarey
Zedek Productions will feature two
Congregation Shaarey Zedek mem-
bers who devote much of their time
to volunteerism for the Jewish com-
munity here in the United States and
in Israel.
Dottie Wagner, the first guest, is
president of Shaarey Zedek. Geri
Levit, host and producer of the show,
discusses the new congregational pro-
grams and innovative events planned
for the future.
The second segment will feature
community activist Seymour Brode,
owner and director of Franklin
Racquet Club.
