5586 DRAKE • WEST BLOOMFIELD • (248) 788-4567

SINCE HE FOUND out years
back that Mickey Mouse was born on
the same day as him, Jerry Robbins
and Mickey have been inseparable.
Decorations and motif of recent
70th birthday party for Jerry by his
wife Marge, at Hunters Ridge Club-
house in West Bloomfield, revolved
around Mickey.
Eddie Rosenberg tells of Jerry
putting his arm around Mickey Mouse
at Disneyland, and asking someone to
take their picture together ... "We
both have the same birthday," Eddie
says he whispered to the youngster
wearing a Mickey Mouse outfit ...
Eddie's wife, Shirley Rosenberg, was in
the mood for a chocolate fudge ice
cream puff and said she'd stay for
dessert if Marge had it ... Shirley got
everything but the puff, and remained
to eat her hot fudge sundae.
Marge' brother, Judge Stephen
Cooper, recalled the days he worked
so hard to get elected ... This year, he
was one of those who ran unopposed
... Clever magician entertained the 60
or so relatives and friends with head-
scratching tricks ... David Barr, mar-
ried to. Marge's sister, Phyllis, knew
he'd get his $100 bill back even when
Al, the magic gent, "reduced it to
ashes" ... but was willing to pay the
$100 just to see him work ,.. He was
that good ... Lou Friedman said the
card he had wasn't the one called by
the magician ... until the magic man
took it out of Lou's hand and showed
the crowd that it was ... Jerry Glass-
man came late, but in time to see him
do his best trickery.
Betty and Sid Pianin remembered
the days on Livernois and Seven Mile
... People were told to bring baby pic-
tures ... and guessers of who the folks
were received prizes ... Guessing many
of them correctly was amazing ... Jerry
is like Mickey Mouse in looks, too ...
They never seem to grow old ... "Mick-
ey keeps him young," says Marge.
GET WELL WISHES ... to kosher
caterer Phil Tewel of Jewel Kosher
Catering ... recuperating on crutches
after a mountain fall while skiing in
California.
NEW KOSHER restaurant by Paul
Kohn, will be called La Difference ...
and is slated to hopefully open on the
first night of Chanukah, Dec. 13 ... in
back of Robins Nest at the former site
of Sultan's, Waleed's and Steve's Back
Room, Orchard Lake Road and
Northwestern.
Paul's dining room overseer will be
John Wood, former vice president of
the fine.Machus restaurant chain ...
