Buys Teledata

Jerusalem (JPFS) — ADC Telecom-
munications, a U.S. maker of voice,
video and data systems, announced
that it has reached an agreement to
buy Teledata Communications of Her-
zliya for $200 million in cash, in a
deal aimed at boosting ADC's access
to international markets.
Under the agreement, ADC, based
in Minneapolis, Minn., is to pay
$15.75 per share for all of Teledata's
outstanding shares of stock and to
convert outstanding Teledata stock
options into ADC common stock
options.
Poalim Investment Co. is the

largest sharehOlder in Teledata, with
percent.
Teledata is a maker of mid-sized
digital loop carrier systems and has a
range of customers in the international
market, especially in Europe, the Mid-
dle East, South Africa, Australia and
Latin America.

Deal With Sweden

Jerusalem (JPFS) —ECI Telecom has
signed a new agreement, valued at $13
million, with Sweden's Telia for the
supply of HDSL solutions, which
boost the capacity of existing phone
lines.
The new contract, due to be con-
ded at the end of the year 2000,
was awarded following the successful
deployment of HDSL solutions by
Telia in 1995. Telia, wholly owned by
the Swedish government, which is
planning to begin privatizing the com-
pany, is the leading supplier of tele-
com-based information services in the
Nordic/Baltic region. The company is
continue to supply ECI. Telecom's
ExLine2 HDSL system to deliver
voice, fax and data services over cop-
per loop infrastructure throughout
Sweden.
