young singles — a
record high took
this year's UJA singles mission to
Israel last July.
During their 11 days of trav-
el they found a constantly
interesting panorama of sights
and sounds, of food and fash-
ion. But the highlights, partici-
pants said, were the opportuni-
ty to reexamine their own sense
of spirituality and community
and the opportunity to forge
new friendships.

for some, a nostalgic return trip
for others, but it was the first
time this particular group came
together, and they wouldn't trade
the whirlwind experience for
anything.
The trip coleaders were Lisa
Barson and Lee Trepeck, and
Barson reports that for many the
bonds of friendship forged in
Israel have only strengthened in
the weeks since the group
returned. 0
After walking through an archeological site, this
group of Detroiters took time for a photo op.
