PHOTOS BY MELISSA SELIGMAN Special to The Jewish News 101E ore than 60 Detroit-area young singles — a record high took this year's UJA singles mission to Israel last July. During their 11 days of trav- el they found a constantly interesting panorama of sights and sounds, of food and fash- ion. But the highlights, partici- pants said, were the opportuni- ty to reexamine their own sense of spirituality and community and the opportunity to forge new friendships. It was the first visit to Israel for some, a nostalgic return trip for others, but it was the first time this particular group came together, and they wouldn't trade the whirlwind experience for anything.
