hen Herb Kaufman's daughters Ilene and Patty were old enough to type, they
hand typed yahrzeit notices and envelopes on an IBM Selectric typewriter.
Knowing Ira Kaufman's great grandson Chad and great granddaughter Stephanie were
monitoring the chapel's Web site and answering e-mail inquires, we don't have to imagine
.the smile on Ira's face, we just look

died July 6. He was a former boxer
and an inspector of sports machinery.
He is survived by his sister,
Dorothy Bodner of Oak Park; loving
nieces, nephews and cousins.

REBECCA "BECKY" SCHWARTZ,
74, of Farmington Hills, died Aug. 23.
She was manager of Himmelhoch's,
president of a PTA, chairman for the
March of Dimes and UNICEF. She
also served on the advisory board for
the Oak Park Library.
She is survived by her husband, Al
Schwartz; sons and daughters-in-law,
Dr. Bernard and Deborah Schwartrz
of Bloomfield Hills ; Steven and San-
dra Schwartz of Lathrup Village;
daughter and son-in-law, Hilda and
Phillip Neuman of Farmington Hills;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,

ARLENE SIEGEL, 71, of West
Bloomfield, died Aug. 24. Mrs. Siegel
was a member of Hadassah and the
Women's District Golf Association.
She is survived by her husband,
Burton Siegel; son and daughter-in-
law, Randy and Karen Siegel of Meta-
mora; daughters and sons-in-law,
Leslie and Dr. Howard Frumin of
Franklin, Margo and Steve Goodman
of West Bloomfield; grandchildren,
Nikole Siegel, Michael and Erica Fru-
min, Ryan and Eric Goodman; broth-
er and sisters-in-law, Russell and Mar-
jorie Greenberg of Florida, Shirley
Graff.

RUTH "TOOTSIE" SINGER-
MAN, 91, of Southfield, died Aug.
20. Ms. Singerman was a secretary
for Michigan Bell. She was a veteran
of World War II and received a letter
from the president commending her
efforts, was on Nuremberg War
Crimes Investigation Committee and
received a Good Conduct Medal, the
Meritorious Service Plaque, Ameri-
can Theater Medal, World War II
Victory Medal and the Army of
Occupation Medal. Ms. Singerman
was also active with the Jewish War
Veterans, Hadassah, League of Jewish
Women and the Hurtzel Institute of
New York.
She is survived by her sisters, Eve-
lyn Anchill of Southfield, Mary
Singerman; brother and sister-in-law,
Mark and Shirley Singerman of Las
Vegas; nieces and nephews, great-
nieces and great-nephews and great-
great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Ms. Singerman was the dear sister of
the late Morrie, the late Phil and the
late Paul Singerman and the late
Henry "Honey" August. Interment at
Workmen's Circle Cemetery. Contri-

DR. PINO WISER, 64, of West
Bloomfield, died Aug. 20. Dr. Wiser
was a dentist and one of the owners of
the Omni Dental. He was a 1959
graduate of the Detroit Dental School
and an undergraduate at the Universi-
ty of Michigan. Dr. Wiser was a mem-
ber of the American Dental Associa-
tion, Michigan Dental Association
and a past president of the Southfield
Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Judith
Wiser; son, Gregg Wieser of Las
Vegas; brothers and sister-in-law,
Nathan and Dvora Avieser of Israel,
Raoul Avieser.
Interment at Nusach Hari Ceme-
tery. Contributions may be made to
any Israeli charity, or the Dr. Pino
Wiser Foundation, Oakland Commu-
