A lot of women are so afraid of
breast cancer they don't want to hear
about it.
And that's what frightens me.
Because those women won't prac-
tice breast self-examination regularly.
Those women, particularly those
over 35, won't ask their doctor about a
mammogram.
Yet that's what's required for breast
cancer to be detected early. When the
cure rate is 90%. And when there's a

good chance it won't involve the loss of
a breast.
But no matter what it involves, take
it from someone who's been through
it all.
Life is just too wonderful to give up
on. And, as I found out, you don't have
to give up on any of it. Not work, not
play, not even romance.
Oh, there is one thing, though.
You do have to give up being afraid
to take care of yourself.

ROSE BLIZNICK, 85, of Farming-

ton Hills, died Aug. 19.
She is survived by her sons and
daughter-in-law, Edward and Susan
Bliznick of Royal Oak, Kenneth
Bliznick of Belleair Bluffs, Fla.; grand-
children, Jay and Adam. She was the
beloved wife of the late, William
Bliznick.
Graveside services were held at Adat
Shalom Cemetery in Livoriia. Contri-
butions can be made to the Botsford
Continuing Care Center Recreation
Fund, 21450 Archwood Circle, Farm-
ington Hills, MI 48336. Arrange-
ments by Dorfman Funeral Direction.

ARTHUR BOSCHAN, 95, of West

Bloomfield, died Aug. 18. Mr.
Boschan was the owner, founder,
chairman and CEO of Adams Indus-
tries, a manufacturer of industrial
packaging material in Monroe, La. He
was a longtime board member and
officer of Congregation B'nai Moshe,
a Hadassah founder and an overseer of
the Jewish Theological Seminary.
He is survived by his wife, Doris
Boschan; daughter and son-in-law,
Suzanne and Morton Noveck of
Bloomfield Hills; son and daughter-
in-law, James and Shelley Boschan of
Bloomfield Hills;. grandchildren, Laura
and Caryn Noveck, Jason, Jonathan,
Jared and Natalie Boschan; brother,
Albert Bochan of West Bloomfield;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dr.
Julius and Shirley Sherr, I. William
and Harriet Sherr; nieces and
nephews, Sandra and Ronald Moss,
Dr. Allan Chernick, Edward and Faye
Menczer, Dr. Richard and Marion
Menczer; grandnieces and grand-
nephews. He was the dear brother-in-
law of the late Lillian Chernick, the
late Harry Chernick and the late Else
Boschan.
Interment at Oakview Cemetery.

DAVID L. BRODER, 76, of Lake

Orion, died Aug. 23.
He is survived by his brother,

EVELYN FRANCES COHN, 49, of

New York City, died Aug. 16.
She is survived by her parents, Soli-
ta and Bernard Cohn of Bradenton,
Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Dr.
Edward and Bonnie Cohn of Hunt-
ington Woods; sister and brother-in-
law, Dr. Lillian Cohn and Larry Jack-
son of Merion, Pa.; nieces and
nephews, Aaron and Emily Cohn,
Benjamin, Henry, Philip and Richard
Jackson. Interment in Philadelphia.

Md.

MAYNARD CUTLER, 67, of Farm-

ington Hills, died Aug. 21. Prior to
his retirement 12 years ago, Mr.- Cut-
ler was a pharmacist and owner of Kay
Cee Drugs on Moross and Harper in
Harper Woods. He was a docent at
the Holocaust Memorial Center and
at the Detroit Institute of Arts. He
was also a member of the Michigan
Pharmacist Association, a member of
the Founders Society and a member of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
He is survived by his sons and
daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Robin
Cutler of West Bloomfield, Rick and
Sheryl Cutler of Boca Raton, Fla.;
daughter and son-in-law, Susie and
Dennis Horwitz of Farmington Hills;
grandchildren, Ashley and Michael
Cutler, Morgan Cutler and Amanda
and Eric Horwitz. He was the beloved
husband of the late Rita Cutler.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to Juvenile Diabetes. Arrange-
ments by the Ira Kaufman Chapel.

ESTHER FREEDMAN, 92, of

Bloomfield Hills, died Aug. 19. Mrs.
Freedman was a hosiery executive.
She is survived by her daughters
and sons-in-law, Aviva and Jack
Robinson of Bloomfield Hills, Dr.
Lorraine and Stanleigh Goldberg of
West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Shel-
by Robinson and Randy Ross, Dr.
Beth and Stephen Swartz, Abigail
Robinson and Michael Kone, Adam
and Elizabeth Goldberg, Rachel Gold-
berg, Naomi Goldberg; five great-
grandchildren. She was the beloved
wife of the late Abraham Freedman.
Interment Beth El Memorial Park.

Chapel.
