By my count, Sidney Bolkosky's article
in your July 24 edition ("In Whose
Hands Will Memory Rest?"), taking
issue with my piece in the June Com-
mentary ("Auschwitz and the Profes-
sors"), has now been published three
• times: first on the Internet, then as a
letter to the editor of Commentary and
now once again in the Jewish News.
Along the way, it gained a few choice
adjectives.
Given Mr. Bolkosky's prolific output,
I have already had occasion to reply to
his charges. My response can be found
in the August issue of Commentary. I
urge anyone interested in the memory
\- of how the Holocaust is being desecrat-
ed by various left-wing academics and
Israel bashers (among others) to take a
look at what I had to say.

"Hard Line"
Viewpoints
I want to thank The Jewish News for its
new policy of presenting what some
have considered "hard line" viewpoints
about the Oslo Accords in particular
and the Palestinians in general.
Those persons having trouble under-
standing Prime Minister Netanyahu's
reluctance to give up more territory
• without more security concessions are
forgetting the premise of the Oslo
Accords. Based on the exchange of
hard-won lands for recognition that
both people have a right to exist in an
area and the Palestinian promise to
renounce violence, significant evidence
has emerged that the Palestinian
Authority (PA) is abrogating its end of
the bargain and may only be participat-
ing in the Oslo Accords to further their
aim of destroying Israel.
There are tapes available that bear
witness to the depth of hatred being
engendered in children as young as five
as well as in adults toward Israelis by
Arafat. Contrary to what Neil Rubin
opines in his article ("Wishful Think-
ing" July 24), this government-sanc-
tioned hatred presently has no parallel

— in Israel and polls indicate the vast
majority of Arabs support this position
of Arafat's.
To ignore the tapes as well as the
writings and words of significant Arabs,
even Israeli Arabs, is to bury one's head
in the sand the way so many Jews did
