SOL FREEDMAN, 88, of Farming-

ton Hills, died July 28. He was a vet-
eran of World War II, who served in
England with the eighth Air Force.
He was a well known sportsman and
gaming expert in Detroit and Las
Vegas, where he lived for many years.
He is survived by his brothers and
sister-in-law, Murray Freedman of
Lakeworth, Fla., Hyman and Ruth
Freedman of Virginia Beach, Va.; sis-
ter, Ann Markman of Oak Park;
nieces and nephews, Diane Reid,
Terry Markman, Gerald (Carol)
Freedman, Stuart (Paulette) Freed-
man; loving great-nieces and great-
nephews and their children. He was
the brother of the late Sam Freed-
man. Graveside services held at Adat
Shalom Cemetery in Livonia. Contri-
butions can be made to a charity of
one's choice. Arrangements by Dorf-
man Funeral Direction.

ROSE GERWITZ, 88, of West

Bloomfield, died Aug. 2.
She is survived by her daughter
and son-in-law, Sue Ann and Marvin
Hirsch of West Bloomfield; grand-
children, Allison and Lauren Hirsch.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Harry Gerwitz.
Services and interment were held
at Star of David Cemetery in N.
Lauderdale, Fla. Contributions can
be made to the Alzheimer's Disease
and Related Disorders, 17220 W. 12
Mile, Southfield, MI 48076, or to a
charity of one's choice. Arrangements
by Dorfman Funeral Direction.

SHIRLEY GOODMAN of Florida is
survived by her daughter and son-in-
law, Susan and Larry Aft; son, Barry
Goodman of Farmington Hills and his
fiance Nicole Farber; grandchildren,
Steven and Danna Aft, Aaron and
Rebecca Goodman and brother, Martin
Lenzer. Mrs. Goodman was the beloved
wife of the late Walter Goodman.
Interment in Florida. Contribu-
tions may be made to the Anti-
Defamation League, 4000 Town
Center, Suite 420, Southfield, MI
48075. This announcement was
placed at the request of the family by
the Ira Kaufman Chapel.

SAM GUZICK, 88, former Detroiter
of San Diego, died July 31.
He is survived by his wife, Ade-
laide Guzick; daughters, Elizabeth
Goldstein, Jan Landau; son, Michael
Guzick; brother, Morris Guzick;
seven grandchildren.
Graveside services were held in San

Diego. Arrangements by AM Israel
Mortuary.

IDA GVAZDA, 92, of Farmington

Hills, died Aug. 4.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Melvyn and Marilyn
Gvazda of Farmington Hills; grand-
daughter, Melanie Gvazda; nieces,
nephews, grandnieces and grand-
nephews. She was the beloved wife of
the late Max Gvazda.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

JUDITH KRANDALL, 63, of Madi-

son Heights, died Aug. 3. She was a
secretary in the field of education.
She is survived by her brother and

Karen Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; sis-
ter and brother-in-law, Ruth and Saul
Raimi of West Bloomfield; nieces and
nephews, Phillip and Susan Raimi,
Marsha and Bruce Brand, Steven
Raimi, Cheryl and Arnie Berlin, Jor-
dan Smith Krandall; great-nieces and
great-nephews, Sara Brand; Eli
Brand, Hanna Berlin, Melissa Berlin,
David Raimi, Aaron Raimi. Contri-
