JEFFREY N. ANBENDER, 46, of

Oak Park, died July 15. Mr. Anbender
was the owner of Schnelli Deli at War-
ren and Woodward.
He is survived by his wife, Bunny
Band; daughter, Casey Anbender;
mother, Arlene Anbender of South-
field; sisters and brothers-in-law,
Beth Anbender-Cohen and Ronald
Cohen of West Bloomfield, Suzie
and Bill Thompson of Birmingham;
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law,
Harriet and Norm Rotter, Judy and
Richard Komer, Jeffrey Band and
Meredith Westin-Band; nephews and
nieces, David and Jamie Cohen, Jen-
nifer, Scott and Michelle Thompson,
Steven and Lisa Rotter, Michael Rot-
ter, David Rotter, Nancy and Mike
Stone, Margery Komer and her
fiancee, Barry Kaplan, Josh Band,
Marissa Band; great-nephews and
great-nieces, Jake and Max Rotter;
mother-in-law and father-in-law,
Dorothy and Martin Cooperman.
He was the loving son of the late
Samuel Anbender.
Interment at B'nai Israel. Contribu-

EDITH BARON, 82, of West

Bloomfield, died July 15. Mrs. Baron
was a teacher.
She is survived by her sister and
brother-in-law, Alice and Dr. Harvey
Stein of West Bloomfield; nephews
and nieces, Dr. Kenneth and Shari .
Stein, Dr. Lawrence and Debbie Stein,
Marcia Stein, Robert and Jan Stein;
great-nieces and great-nephews, Mara,
Samantha, Jonathan and Donald
Stein. Mrs. Baron was the beloved
wife of the late Isadore Baron.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

A lot of women are so afraid of
breast cancer they don't want to hear
about it.
And that's what frightens me.
Because those women won't prac-
tice breast self-examination regularly.
Those women. particularly those
over 35, won' ask their doctor about a
mammogram.
Yet that's what's required for breast
cancer to be detected early. When the
cure rate is 90"0. And when there's a

good chance it won't involve the loss of
a breast.
But no matter what it involves, take
it from someone who's been through
it all.
Life is just too wonderful to give up
on. And. as I found out, you don't have
to give up on any of it. Not work. not
play, not even romance.
Oh, there is one thing, though.
You do have to give up.being afraid
to take care of yourself.

DR. ARVIN BENNISH, 67, of

Bloomfield Hills, died July 19. Dr.
Bennish was a cardiologist with offices
at Town Center in Southfield. He was
a graduate of the University of Michi-
gan Medical School in 1954. He was a
member of the American Heart Asso-
ciation and was very active in cardiol-
ogy research.
Dr. Bennish is survived by his wife
of 44 years, Dolores Bennish; son and
daughter-in-law, Ethan and Chris
Bennish of Warren; daughter, Mara
Bennish of Chicago; grandchildren,
Jason, Sarah and Paige Bennish; sister

and brother-in-law, Bettye and Sol
Carr of Farmington Hills.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Arrangements
by the Ira Kaufman Chapel.

ALVIN G. BRAUNSTEIN, 75, of

Redford, died July 20. Mr. Braunstein
was a drugstore manager.
He is survived by his loving com-
panion, Anja Braunstein; son and
daughter-in-law, Steven and Paula
Braunstein of Mt. Clemens; daughters
and son-in-law, Gail Langford of
Westland, Alison and William Pikur
of Redford; grandchildren, Sarah,
Kathryn, Anthony and Jack; great-
grandchildren, Chelsea and Tyron; sis-
ters and brother-in-law, Marilyn
Phillips of Ohio, Libby and Dr. Shel-
don Willens of Hollywood, Fla.

LINDA SUSAN BRENNER, 54, of
West Bloomfield, died July 17.
She is survived by her husband,
Laurence M. Brenner; son and daugh- T,
ter-in-law, Jeffrey Aaron and Tina
Brenner of Eaton Rapids; mother,
Edie Snyder Layne of Delray Beach,
Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Karen
and Maurice Davidson of West
Bloomfield; granddaughter, Olivia
Susan Brenner.

JOSEPH COHEN, 90, of Southfield,

died July 16. Mr. Cohen was a news-
paper mailer for the Detroit Times and
then the Detroit News. He was also a
World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Cohen is survived by his wife,
Mae Kornov Cohen; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Lawrence and Janice Cohen
of West Bloomfield; daughter and son-
in-law, Sharon and Sid Minjares of
Taylor; grandchildren, Jamie Cohen,
Lowell and Dawn Phillips, Aaron
Michael Cohen, Jordan Frederick
Cohen; great-grandson, Jonah Phillips;
brothers and sister-in-law, Myer and C'n
Marilyn Cohen, Harold Cohen and
David Cohen. He was the dear broth-
er of the late Sidney Cohen and the
late Tillie Cohen.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
